The Problem
Symbols often carry layered meanings that can be difficult to communicate through a single static image. The challenge was to visually represent the deeper symbolism of the pentagram while also using augmented reality to reveal an additional layer of meaning when the poster was scanned.

Insight
The pentagram has historically represented the balance of the five classical elements—spirit, water, fire, earth, and air. Visualizing the flow and connection between these elements could help illustrate the symbol’s deeper meaning beyond its commonly misunderstood associations.

Design Intent
I created a hand-drawn poster illustrating the five elements arranged in balance, using organic forms and symbolic imagery to represent each force of nature. Using Adobe Photoshop, I then designed an animated GIF that reveals the pentagram structure and visualizes energy flowing between the elements. Through the Artivive augmented reality platform, viewers can scan the poster to activate the animation and uncover the hidden symbol.
